DO NOT WATCH The Book of Boba Fett - VERY disappointing

So recently I've been watching the Book of

Boba Fett Disney show on Disney Plus, and

as an avid fan of Star Wars and sci-fi

shows and movies in general, I just had to

watch this. Unfortunately, I was extremely

disappointed and found the show to be kind

of lackluster. When I first found out

about the series, I was really excited

because Boba Fett is one of my favorite

characters from Star Wars, and when he met

his grisly end in Return of the Jedi when

Luke kicks him into the Sarlacc pit, I was

kind of sad and annoyed that one of my

favorite characters was brought to an end.

But he actually survived, and in the

beginning of The Book of Boba Fett, you

see him inside of the Sarlacc fighting his

way out with his flamethrower, and he

manages to crawl out, and that's where the

beginning of the series begins. But

unfortunately, that's also where my

disappointment begins. After watching all

of the currently released 7 episodes of

The Book of Boba Fett show, I can safely

say that I'm not really that impressed

with this show, and it's kind of rubbish.

I was expecting an action-packed, gritty,

and dark show with my favorite character

Boba Fett, who's supposed to be one of the

most ruthless characters in the Star Wars

galaxy. But what I got instead was a

watered-down kids show which is full of

annoying characters and the plot just

doesn't really go anywhere. So now that

Jabba the Hutt doesn't really exist

anymore and he's been removed, Boba Fett

now takes his place in the Jabba the Hutt

Palace. And for most of the show, Boba

Fett is just sitting on the Jabba the Hutt

chair trying to manage and take control of

his newly found kingdom. I thought the

beginning of the series was pretty cool,

seeing how Boba Fett managed to survive

getting kicked into the Sarlacc pit, and I

was kind of expecting that after he

escapes, he would find a ship and then get

off Tatooine and go and do something

interesting. But so far, the whole series

is just Boba Fett on Tatooine, which has

to be one of the most boring planets in

the whole Star Wars universe. There's so

many cool planets in Star Wars like

Coruscant and Naboo, but they have to

choose the most boring planet. It's just a

massive ball that's covered in sand. It's

so dull and boring to look at. I really

hate Tatooine. So instead of going on a

fun, interesting, exciting adventure,

around the galaxy. Boba Fett decides to

stay in Tatooine because he's now the

crime lord big boss man. Then he starts

surrounding himself with all these really

annoying and boring side characters to

help him run and control his new empire,

and he starts getting new enemies who

don't like him, and then he has to fight

back against them. And there's just way

too many episodes of him with the Tusken

Raiders. In the beginning, he kind of gets

captured and then becomes friends with the

Tusken Raiders, and I can see what they're

doing. They're kind of trying to humanize

the Tusken Raiders, the sand people,

because they've always been seen as these

animalistic, dumb, savage, and brutal

people, but then they're trying to

humanize them and show that they actually

have feelings too, and they have their own

culture and their own way of life. I just

found these scenes of him trying to

connect with the Tusken Raiders and create

this sense of brotherhood-ship-ness with

them to be very boring and dull. And then

in the end, they all get wiped out anyway,

so it just felt kind of pointless. The

most annoying characters have to be this

gang of young kids that he recruits, and

they ride around these really

colorful-looking moped scooter things,

and they're just so lame. They're not cool

at all. They kind of give off these Power

Ranger vibes, and they're supposed to be

like his main foot soldiers on the ground,

but they just look like school kids trying

to be cool. I just don't know how Disney

manages to butcher almost every single

Star Wars movie or show that they attempt

to make. The only good Star Wars movie

that's come out recently has to be Rogue

One. Apart from Rogue One, all of the

recent Star Wars stuff that's come out has

just been so disappointing. I remember in

the original Star Wars trilogy, Boba Fett

was supposed to be this feared bounty

hunter, and he had this very ominous

presence and atmosphere around him, and he

was like a character that people feared.

But in Book of Boba Fett, he's like this

watered-down, docile version of what he

used to be. I think it'd be more

interesting if he went back to being a

bounty hunter and then went around the

universe and flew to different planets to

hunt different bounties. At least that way

he would go to different environments and

there'd be more possibilities of new

characters. Who knows, maybe they have

that planned and that's coming soon.

Maybe something catastrophic is going to

happen on Tatooine, which forces him to

leave it. The main problem I have with the

series is just the fact that there's so

many side characters, so many comic relief

characters that are very annoying. I don't

know what it is about Star Wars and this

obsession with having annoying characters

in it. There's so many of these kind of

Jar Jar Binks type characters that just

have this comedic supportive role that

don't really bring much to the show and

they're just there to entertain the kids.

But as an adult viewer, it just really

ruins the show and ruins any kind of

grittiness or matureness or dark themes

the show might have had or could have had

by having all of these kind of clown

characters. All of the attempts at humor

in the show just really fall flat, and I

never found myself laughing at any of the

jokes or any of the funny things that are

supposed to be funny. I just think Star

Wars would be so much better if they

stopped trying to be funny and they just

focused on making it serious and gritty,

kind of like in a Warhammer 40K way. So in

the last episode, there's this massive

battle against one of the major rival

gangs called the Pyke Syndicate or

something dumb like that. And they don't

like Boba Fett because they want to

smuggle and trade spice. And Boba Fett

doesn't want that to happen because all of

a sudden he has grown a moral backbone. I

never really thought of Boba Fett as a

good guy who has all these great morals.

I just thought he was like this scumbag

mercenary who did anything for money. Now

all of a sudden we're supposed to believe

that he's this magical angel. It just

doesn't really feel in character. I feel

like the real Boba Fett would have no

problems with trading spice, and he'd

probably want a cut of the profits. So

they have this massive shootout in the

middle of the city, Mos Espa, Mos Eisley,

one of those two, between the Pykes and

Boba Fett's men. Or I say men, more like

his teenage Power Ranger gang. And then

these big droids come, they've got

shields, and this rancor comes to help,

and Mandalorian comes as well. And then

Yoda saves the day. I mean, Baby Yoda

saves the day using the Force. And it just

wasn't really that impressive as a big

battle scene. I didn't really care about

the enemies, didn't really feel like the

enemies were threatening. I didn't really

feel like I was worried or that I cared

about the lives or safety of the main

characters. And I just don't really feel

like it's good writing if the show fails

to make you care about the characters,

because if you don't care, then that means

you don't really feel invested in the

story. And if I don't feel invested in the

story, then I don't really feel that

motivated to keep watching the series.

There's also this very strange kind of

low-budget feeling to the show, even

though it looks good. The cinematography

is okay, but for some reason there's a

very low-budget kind of feeling to it.

Just the props and some of the set pieces,

especially like the big droids with the

shields, look very kind of low quality,

not really what you would expect in a Star

Wars movie or show. So would I recommend

someone watch this show if you're a fan of

the Star Wars movies? I don't really know

if I could recommend it. The main thing

that interests me about Star Wars is the

lore I'm interested in what's happening in

the greater scheme of things in the

universe, like what's happening between

the Empire and the Rebellion, or the

Republic and the Sith. I want to know

about the major events, not what's

happening on Tatooine between some rival

crime gangs, which are not very

significant in the big picture. And I feel

like Disney is eventually going to have a

different show for almost every side

character in Star Wars. There's going to

be spin-off series for almost every

character that had a notable presence in

the movies, and they're going to make a

lot of money from doing this, I think. I

guess there's a lot of stories and a lot

of characters' stories that could be told

in this kind of format, and that's great.

They have to make their money back on

their investments from purchasing Star

Wars from George Lucas, but I just feel

like most of these shows and series are

going to be a bit, bit lackluster, a bit

rubbish. And unfortunately, I'm going to

have to give The Book of Boba Fett a bit

of a poor score of 4.1 out of 10.
