times. Hello, welcome back to a new Elden

Ring build video. Today I'll be showing

you my lightning and thunder build,

primarily focusing on lightning bolt

attacks. So the main skill that you need

for this build is the Thunderbolt Ashes of

War. And we can apply that to nearly any

kind of weapon, but I found that the most

effective weapon to apply it to is the

katanas. And that's mainly because katanas

scale with dexterity the best. And since

this Ashes of War does more damage with

more dexterity, we're going to focus on

dexterity-boosting things. And that's why

we're going to choose the Keen affinity

instead of Lightning, because Keen makes

your weapons scale with dexterity even

better. Okay, so the playstyle basically

just revolves around pressing the left

trigger button and just spamming

Thunderbolt. Over and over again, and it

takes me about 2 hits to take down these

enemies. Really, it should only take 1

hit, but unfortunately I didn't have

enough points in my Dexterity build

because I ran out of Lava Tear locations

to get Lava Tears to respec my points. In

my current build, I have about 80 points

in Arcane because I maxed that out for a

different build, and I have about 40

Dexterity. I think if you had 80

Dexterity, you would definitely be

one-shotting these mobs. Now, the

interesting thing about Thunderbolt is

sometimes it does a bit of an AoE attack,

and I have a suspicion that when you see

those puddles of water, that this is

what's triggering the AoE attacks,

because sometimes it doesn't do an AoE

attack. But that's just a theory. Maybe it

has nothing to do with the puddles of

water, although that would be a cool

little effect. It would be pretty

impressive as a game mechanic if the water

helped the electricity pass through other

enemies, but I'm not sure if Elden Ring is

that sophisticated. Maybe it's just when

the enemies are close enough together,

then the lightning bolt can hit them all.

Now we do have quite a lot of other

lightning spells, such as the lightning

spear, and there's like an AoE red dragon

lightning storm effect. But the problem

with these is that they scale with faith,

and if we're going for dexterity to boost

Thunderbolt, then we might not have many

points in faith. Maybe it would be a good

idea if you split your points between

dexterity and faith, then you'll be able

to do better damage using the lightning

incantations. But I think Thunderbolt is a

superior ability, so I decided to focus on

dexterity. Now, as for the talismans,

we're going to be focusing on talismans

that boost your dexterity. So we have

Radagon's Soreseal, which gives you about

+5 I think, dexterity. And Shard of

Alexander gives you a boost to skills,

which is good because Thunderbolt is a

skill. And we have Prosthesis Wearer

Heirloom, which raises dexterity, and

Lightning Scorpion Charm, which raises

lightning damage. And we also have this

special helmet called Okina's— Okina Mask,

which boosts dexterity by about 3 points.

So very nice. As for the location of

the Thunderbolt Ashes of War, it's kind of

difficult to show you because My Leyndell

capital city kind of blew up and turned

into a mountain of ash. So I think you

have to get it before you blow up the

Erdtree or burn down the Erdtree.

Otherwise, it's usually underneath where

that big dragon is under its wing, and

then you jump down to this kind of

destroyed building area where that well

goes, and there should be a scarab beetle

that drops it. As for the Lightning

Scorpion charm, I can show you where to

get that. You have to go to this catacombs

place in this mountain area. Um, yeah,

it's called Windham Ruins, and then you

have to go to this place where I'm

standing, and it's in the side of a

mountain. You can see this door, and then

you just enter it, go down, go down the

steps, and you'll probably know the drill

to these catacomb areas by now. Just

defeat these imps, find the switch, the

lever, defeat the boss, but the boss

doesn't drop it. You have to do a bit of

exploring, and you also need one of those

stone sword key things. To enter the

room that has the Lightning Scorpion

charm. And that's it really, pretty easy

to get. Just avoid these lightning traps

and you're done. I'm not sure if there's

better talismans for Thunderbolt, but I

think boosting dexterity does the best.

It's the most effective for boosting the

lightning damage. So I did a bit of

research and I can confirm that the water

puddles do have an effect on the lightning

attack. So you can see these enemies

walking into this water puddle And when

the lightning strikes the ground, it fans

out in this AoE effect and strikes all of

them all at once. So for example, here you

can see when I attack the water puddle

with Thunderbolt, you can clearly see that

it's spreading out and fanning out. But

then when I turn around and just

Thunderbolt the ground, just a cloud of

dust appears and there's no spreading or

fanning out. So, so yeah, that's a pretty

interesting and nice effect in the game.

You can use water to your advantage. But

it's also kind of limiting because if

there's no water around, then you're not

going to get that AoE effect. But if you

go to an area where it's very wet, for

example, the Liurnia Lakes area where the

entire ground is just water, then you'll

be able to do the AoE effects, which is

pretty cool. I'm not sure if the presence

of water increases the damage done by

Thunderbolt or other lightning attacks.

I'll have to do further investigation to

find out about that. But unfortunately,

not all liquid substances give you this

lightning AoE effect. For example, these

red lakes. You would think they also

conduct electricity, but nothing happens

when the lightning bolts— thunderbolts

strike into it. So I don't know what these

red waters are. Maybe it's blood? But I

thought blood also conducts electricity.

Maybe it doesn't. I'm not really sure. So

that was my lightning and thunder build.

mention there's also an Electrify Armament

incantation where you can make your weapon

electric, which looks pretty nice, but

doesn't apply to every single weapon. I

think it mainly applies to weapons that

don't have a special ability of its own,

but you can apply it to the katana, the

long katana, which looks very cool, like

an electric samurai kind of effect. And it

gives you a boost in lightning damage. So
