DO NOT BUY the iPhone 12

So, I was thinking about buying the iPhone

12 a few days ago, but I decided to cancel

my order, and I thought I'd make a video

about why I think the iPhone 12 is not

very impressive. In the past, I had the

iPhone 4, which was released in 2010.

That was actually my first ever

smartphone. And then I had the iPhone X 2

years ago, and then I had the iPhone 11.

Last year, and I really don't see much of

a big upgrade between the iPhone 11 and

the 12. And if you look at the new

features for the iPhone 12, what exactly

about the new features is exciting?

There's 5G and there's some stupid magnet

thing on the back of it. So 5G is faster

than 4G, but I never go outside and I'm

inside using my Wi-Fi 99% of

the time, so 5G wouldn't really benefit me

in any way unless I go outside, and I

don't really feel like 4G is that slow.

4G is fast enough to do pretty much

anything you want to do. I don't really

care if I get 5G and I can do things 2.5

times faster and then it drains my battery

10 times faster, and it probably uses way

more data than 4G would use, so I'd end up

using more data, more battery, just so I

can get things done a little bit faster.

Which I don't really desperately need to

do things way faster than I'm already

doing. So for me personally, 5G is not

really exciting at all, and I feel like

the main selling point of the iPhone 12 is

5G. They keep going on about, oh, 5G is

here. And then the next thing they keep

going on about is this MagSafe feature,

which allows you to magnetically connect

random accessories to the back of it,

like a wireless charger and a wallet.

They're so stupid. Why would you want to

have a little wallet on the back of your

iPhone and put all your cards and

important stuff in there? So if you lose

your iPhone, you're gonna lose your wallet

and all your cards as well along with it.

I prefer to have my wallet separate in my

left pocket, and then I like to have my

phone in my right pocket so not everything

is together. And the wireless charger is—

I guess it's kind of a good idea to have

it magnetic because the problem with

wireless charging is that when you're in

bed and you're trying to charge your

phone, you can't hold your phone and have

it magnetically charging at the same time.

You have to have the phone lying down on

the charger, but I like to have my phone

charging with the cable when I'm in bed

using it. But I guess with the magnetic

wireless charger, you can now do that

again. I think in the next iPhone,

charging socket,

so wireless charging is going to become

the new standard way of charging. And

apart from those 2 features, I really

can't think what is exciting about the new

iPhone 12. What is different compared to

iPhone 11? Nothing. You take away the

MagSafe thing, you take away the 5G, and

it's pretty much just the same as the

iPhone 11. It's got the same cameras.

It's— I think it's got a new chip, so

maybe it's a bit faster. And the design is

better. So the only thing that is great

about the new iPhone 12 is the design,

and that's the reason why I really want to

get one, because it looks nice. That is

the only reason you'd get an iPhone over

an Android, because most Android phones

just look kind of boring. They don't look

premium. But in comparison, iPhones

usually look and feel really nice. The

iPhone X, I didn't really like the design

because it had this rounded edge and

corner design, but the iPhone 12, they're

going back to the whole flat and squarish

look, which I'm a big fan of, and it kind

of matches my iPod— my iPad Pro in the

design aspect. So I thought it'd be nice

if I had an iPhone 12 to match it. I was

also considering if I should get the

iPhone 12 or the iPhone 12 Pro, and I

decided that I prefer the iPhone 12

because number one, the iPhone Pro 12

doesn't come out until 2 weeks and I

didn't want to wait. And then the only

difference between the iPhone 12 Pro and

iPhone 12 is that the Pro has a zoom lens.

That's it. And it also has this LiDAR

thing which makes it take better photos in

low light, and it's also heavier because

it's made out of steel instead of

aluminium, which is what the iPhone 12 is

made out of. So you get a 4x zoom,

optical zoom, on the iPhone 12 Pro And

then on the iPhone 12, you just get a 2x

digital zoom. And as someone who doesn't

really zoom when he's taking photos or

videos, I very rarely zoom, so I don't

really feel like it's worth spending an

extra $100, couple hundred dollars, just

so I can zoom. You know, I could just take

a few steps forward and then achieve the

same zoom effect. You take 4 steps forward

and you've basically zoomed in manually by

4x already, and then just save a couple

hundred dollars. And also, I don't really

care about the low light— improved low

light photo-taking capabilities doesn't

really excite me much. So I was thinking,

why don't I just get the iPhone 12? It's

cheaper, it weighs less, and it just— it's

just missing a zoom lens, which I don't

really care about. So the iPhone 12 seemed

better, but then there's the colors.

iPhone 12 colors look kind of childish

kind of bright, makes it look like a toy,

whereas the iPhone 12 Pro has more mature

colors that make it look more pro. But I

kind of liked the blue color on the iPhone

12, and the white color is also nice.

So I did choose the iPhone 12 over the

iPhone 12 Pro, but I don't think I'm gonna

get one now. I don't know, I might get

one. It's just right now I'm feeling a bit

down And when I'm feeling down, I don't

feel like wasting money on expensive

things. But then when I'm in a good mood,

I get excited about expensive things and

nice things like new iPhones, and I end up

buying them. And then after a few weeks of

messing around with it, I get bored, and

then I sell it, or I regret buying it. I

finally got rid of my Galaxy Fold. If you

remember back to the beginning of this

year, I bought a Samsung Galaxy Fold.

Secondhand refurbished for £1,400,

and I've been using it since then, and I

thought it was a great phone. I was really

into the idea of folding phones, and I

thought it was great, but then I started

to realize that, um, it's kind of a heavy

phone to be carrying around outside, and

I'm just using it as a tablet most of the

time, and I've already got a tablet. You

might as well just buy a proper tablet,

which is going to cost half the price. So

I sold my Galaxy Fold yesterday for £500.

So I lost about £900 or £1,000

just so I got to use it for half a year.

But I'm thinking of either saving that

money that I made off of the Fold or using

it towards getting an iPhone 12, which

technically I don't really need because

the Samsung S10+ is still pretty good.

And I think the S10+ will be able to do

everything I want to do, like making

videos, streaming, editing videos,

I don't think the iPhone 12 would be able

to do any of those things better. In fact,

it'd probably do those things worse. I've

tried live streaming on iPhones before and

it just, it's not very stable. The

connection disappears and it loses

connection randomly sometimes. I remember

streaming on the iPhone X 2 years ago and

it would overheat after about an hour and

then just shut itself down. My S10+ has

never overheated before. So right now my

current setup when it comes to computing

devices is I have my S10+, which is what

I do pretty much everything on, and then I

have my iPad Pro, which is what I do

everything else on, including artwork,

watching YouTube, and yeah, general

internet browsing. The iPad Pro is good

enough for that, so I feel quite satisfied

with my current setup. I think it's a

setup that will please most people— phone

plus tablet. And if you don't really have

any use for a laptop, then a tablet should

be fine. So in conclusion, I guess I

probably should save my money or wait

until next year at least to get the iPhone

13. I wonder how long it's going to take

until we have the iPhone 20. I'm not sure

how different the iPhone 13 would be. I

guess it would just be kind of the same.

I remember last month when I was thinking

about getting the Micro— the Microphost—

the Microsoft folding phone, and I was

so close to buying it from some website on

America— in America that sells American

items and ships them to Europe. I was so

close to getting that phone, and I'm so

glad that I didn't because now I think

about it, it doesn't look that great, and

it looks kind of slow and glitchy. I've

just been tempted so much to get some kind

of new tech recently. First I wanted the

Microsoft Fold, then I wanted the Galaxy

Fold 2, and then I wanted the— I wanted

some kind of gaming laptop, and I was

considering spending €3,000 on a gaming

laptop, which I'm very glad I didn't

because I don't really feel like I

desperately want to do PC gaming.

And then I was thinking about seriously

getting a MacBook Pro the top-end one with

an i9 processor for about €2,600.

And I'm glad I didn't get the MacBook Pro

because if I got the MacBook Pro, I would

just be doing the exact same thing that

I'm doing on the iPad Pro. I don't see

what new things I could be doing on the

iPad— on the MacBook Pro that I can't do

on the iPad. So yeah, that's my review on

the iPhone 12. I give it a 4 point 5

out of 10. I would like to get it though.

I think I will just get it because I

usually get a new iPhone every year. It's

kind of like a ritual now, and if I didn't

get this one this year, I would feel like

I'm missing out on something that I

shouldn't be missing out. It feels wrong

not to get the new iPhone. Yeah, I think I

will just get it. Okay, I'm gonna get it.

No, I shouldn't get it. No, I think I

will get it. But then I don't know if I

should get the Pro. Do I really need the

Pro? No, I think I'll just get the iPhone

12 because it's cheaper.
