THIS is why the MSI CLAW DESTROYS the Steam Deck OLED!

Hello, welcome back to a new video. So

recently MSI have decided to join in with

the handheld gaming console battle against

all the other handheld consoles, and I

think they've got something really

special. It's very different to the other

handheld devices because basically all of

the other Windows-based and also the Steam

Deck handheld devices, they use AMD

processors inside of the internals. But

the MSI Claw, as it's going to be called,

is the one and only, the first ever

handheld that's going to have Intel's

brand new Ultra Core 7 and Ultra Core 5

internal chips. And these chips are really

good, they're really powerful. They've got

the brand new Arc graphics, integrated

graphics, and it's going to be shaping up

to a very interesting competition between

these new Intel chip handheld devices,

with the MS Core being the first one of

its type, versus the pre-existing AMD

Ryzen CPU handheld gaming devices. And I

think MSI has something very special here.

And I think that most people would agree

that the Steam Deck and the Steam Deck

OLED is probably one of the most popular

out of all of the handheld gaming devices,

but I really believe the MSI Claw is just

going to completely destroy the Steam

Deck. So first of all, the Intel Ultra

Core 7 completely blows the CPU that's

inside of the Steam Deck. So the Steam

Deck is using a very old, kind of ancient,

6-nanometer-thick semiconductor AMD

processor chip called the Sephiroth

graphics processor, which was launched

years ago. It's not very up to date as a

processor, and it's not very thin in terms

of nanometer technology. As you know, the

thinner the nanometer of the semiconductor

chip is, the more powerful and more

efficient the chip is. And according to an

MSI spokesperson, the spokesperson claims

that during testing, the Claw delivered 20

to 25% higher frame rates than an

equivalent AMD-based handheld in 14 out of

15 popular titles. So that is pretty

massive that you can claim that it has 20

to 25% higher frame rates and better

performance than anything that Steam Deck

has or any of the other AMD handheld

gaming devices can provide in terms of

power and graphics. Another great benefit

that the MSI Claw has over the AMD devices

is the fact that the MSI Claw is going to

have the Thunderbolt 4 port, which is

probably one of the most powerful ports

out of all the ports. It's way more faster

and powerful and efficient than USB-C or

USB 4, and because Thunderbolt 4 is

actually owned by Intel that means Intel

gets to decide which devices can have

Thunderbolt 4. So currently only laptops,

Intel laptops, have the Thunderbolt 4

ports, and also the MacBook laptops from

Apple also have the Thunderbolt 4 ports.

But none of the AMD or Steam Deck handheld

devices can actually have Thunderbolt 4,

and Thunderbolt 4 is actually really

powerful. So, so in comparison to USB-C,

Thunderbolt 4 can actually transfer data

at up to 40 gigabits per second, whilst

USB-C can only reach up to 10 gigabits.

That's a difference of gigabits per

second. Basically what that means is

Thunderbolt 4 is just superior and much

more efficient and faster transferring

data. The MSI Claw is also going to have

Wi-Fi 7, which absolutely destroys Wi-Fi

6. So Wi-Fi 7 is 40% faster

than Wi-Fi 6E with a maximum data range of

46 gigabits per second compared to only

9.6 gigabits per second in Wi-Fi 6. So

basically MSI Claw is going to be the only

device that has Wi-Fi 7 so far. So thanks

to the MSI Claw being able to have one of

Intel's best wireless modems, it means

it's going to have Wi-Fi 7, which is just

going to be much better when it comes to

wireless connectivity and connection

speeds compared to the Steam Deck OLED and

basically all of the other handheld

devices. MSI Claw also boasts 2 fans with

its cooling system. It's one of the only

handheld devices that has a dual fan

cooling setup. And if you look at the back

of the MSI Claw, the entire back surface

is just covered in air intake vents,

which is going to be extremely efficient

for cooling when the entire back side of

it is just basically vents that's going to

suck in air to cool down the device. The

Steam Deck, I think it only has one fan,

and if you look on the back of the Steam

Deck, most of it is just like flat plastic

and there's not a lot of air intake vents

that can be seen on the back of it. When

it comes to pricing, the MSI Claw is

slightly more expensive than the now kind

of dated Steam Deck and Steam Deck OLED.

So the Steam Deck OLED for the 512GB

version is about $550. And for

the MSI Claw, for the base model version,

it's about $700. And then for the more

faster and much more powerful Intel Ultra

Core 7 version, that's going to cost you

$750 for the 512GB

model and $800 for the 1TB SSD

model. So it's a couple hundred dollars

more expensive than the Steam Deck I did,

but I think what you get in return is a

much better designed device. It's got much

more ergonomic and comfortable in the

hands design, which is why it's called the

MSI Claw, because you're kind of like

holding it in a clawed position. And it

has a similar design to the ROG Ally,

which I think had a much better design

than the Steam Deck anyway. So you get a

better body, better design, you get a

better chip, more advanced, up-to-date,

latest Intel Ultra Core chip, which is

just so much better than the Steam Deck

AMD chips. And you also get much better—

you also have a much better operating

system. You have Windows 11, which, come

on, let's face it, that's going to be way

better than SteamOS. SteamOS can only play

Steam games, and it's got like Linux for

some basic desktop browsing capabilities,

but that's just no competition compared to

full-blown Windows 11 on a handheld

device. I mean, come on, you can do so

many things with Windows 11 on a handheld

device compared to just gaming. You can do

other things on it as well. You could hook

it up to a monitor and turn it into like a

desktop PC experience and actually turn it

into a productivity device, not only a

powerful gaming device. One of the reasons

why the new Intel Ultra Core 7 and 5 chips

are going to destroy the AMD chips and

destroy the Steam Deck is, well, it comes

down to the total draw power. These new

Intel chips, they're just able to draw

more power. They can draw 45 watts

compared to 30 watts in the ROG Ally and

15 watts in the Steam Deck. So that's like

an extra 30 watts compared to the Steam

Deck. It's just going to be able to— okay,

it's going to use more battery, so the

battery is going to drain faster if you're

using it 45-watt mode when you're not

plugged in, but when you are plugged in

and you're using 45-watt mode, it's just

going to be absolutely no competition when

it comes to graphical fidelity and power

and performance. How can a 15-watt draw

power chip in the Steam Deck even come

anywhere near close to competing with the

45-watt draw power of the new Intel Core

Ultra chips? So yeah, in conclusion,

these new Intel Ultra Core chips, I think

they're really going to shake up the

handheld gaming industry and give the

AMD-chipped Windows handheld devices a run

for their money, and also just basically

make the Steam Deck kind of absurdly, if I

was looking to buy a new handheld device

and I had the money and money wasn't

really a problem, then I don't really see

why I'd go for the Steam Deck OLED. The

Steam Deck OLED is only appealing if you

want the cheapest device and you're kind

of poor and you've only got like $500 to

splash, because the other devices,

they're like $700, $800, they're a couple

hundred dollars more expensive. And if

you're really tight for cash, then maybe

the Steam Deck OLED would be appealing.

But as a full-grown adult who has

disposable income Um, a couple hundred

dollars is not really a deal breaker. I

can be completely okay with spending an

extra couple hundred dollars in order to

get a much more powerful device, the

latest device. And I can't wait for the

MSI Claw to come out because I'm really

looking forward to testing it out and

seeing how good these new Intel chips

really are. But I think just from looking

at the specs on paper, it's already way

better than the Steam Deck OLED in almost

every single way.
