  1. Hey, sorry it's been such a long time since my last upload. It's been, it's been about 4 days now. I've just been really sick ever since I collapsed. It, it got worse. The day after I collapsed, I spent all day in bed just lying there, and I felt terrible. After I collapsed, the next day I felt absolutely terrible. I had this really bad headache and I had a fever, temperature, and my whole body was aching, especially my lower back and my ears. My ears were blocked, my nose was blocked, everything was blocked. And then the next day the fever went away. But then I started coughing really badly and I still have a pretty bad cough. It's not as bad as it was yesterday. But it's still, it's still there, and it's just so annoying because when you're ill, you need to sleep. And you know what makes going to sleep very difficult? It's when you keep coughing. I kept coughing every 20 seconds, and I hardly got any sleep 2 nights ago. I was just lying there in bed coughing, and it doesn't make any sense. I thought the human body is supposed to be intelligent. If it's so intelligent, why does it keep Why does it do these counterproductive things? If you want me to sleep, then let me sleep and stop making me cough every 20 seconds. It's the same thing with the day when I nearly collapsed. The reason why I nearly collapsed was because I wasn't eating properly, and the reason why I wasn't eating properly was because I felt sick. I felt like I didn't want to eat anything. I lost my appetite. What's the point in making me feel Like I want to vomit. What's the point in making me lose my appetite when you need me to eat to fight off this illness? I don't think I've passed it on to my girlfriend, otherwise she would have gotten it already by now. And I don't even know how I got it in the first place because I don't even leave the apartment apart from going to the supermarket, and I always go to the supermarket with my girlfriend, so we would have went to the same place where I caught the flu. Maybe she, she didn't catch it. Maybe she was lucky. Maybe her immune system already has defenses against that kind of flu since she's been living here for such a long time, and maybe because I'm a foreigner, I don't— I haven't been exposed to that kind of flu virus before. I feel a lot better than I was feeling yesterday, but I'm still not— I'm still not 100% better, and that might take a week or more until I do. This cough, I feel like this cough is going to take a while. To finally go. They usually do. I want to continue making videos anyway because I don't want to have to wait until next week or more for this illness to go away. I just won't be as upbeat and energetic as I usually am, so, um, sorry about that. I haven't really been doing much recently. I've just been lying around watching YouTube. I've been watching clips of The Simpsons and Lots of Malcolm in the Middle for some reason. It just— it's so nostalgic for me. I used to watch those programs every single day when I was a teenager with my family, and it just gives me this, this warm, comforting feeling inside when I watch those shows. I'm also watching Breaking Bad for the second time. We have it on DVD. This is the third season. And it's so strange seeing Bryan Cranston play such a serious character in Breaking Bad after watching Malcolm in the Middle where he plays such a silly comedic character. The first time I watched Breaking Bad, I didn't notice this, but there's this character in the second season called Spooge, and he gets his head crushed by an ATM machine. And I thought he looked familiar, and I didn't notice this until the second time I watched Breaking Bad, but I decided to Look it up. And he actually has a YouTube channel. He plays this guy called Ken Tanaka, which is this character he does who, who was adopted by Japanese parents. So he speaks fluent Japanese, but when he speaks English, he speaks in like a really broken Japanese way. And then the whole story of the character is he's trying to find his parents in America, his real parents. And I think his channel name is Help Find Parents or something. But I used to watch this channel quite a lot about 10 years ago when I was really into Japan, when I first started to get into Japan, into learning about Japan. And I completely forgot that he had a YouTube channel, but I recognized his face. I guess showing you would just be a lot easier. So this was his YouTube channel, Help Me Find Parents, and It has 91,000 subscribers. That's the guy, isn't it, from Breaking Bad? That weird drug addict who gets his head crushed by an ATM. And his last update was a year ago, so it seems like he was fairly active a year ago, a year or two ago. His recent uploads have very low views. I guess it's kind of like a dead channel now. But back in the day, maybe 6 or 7 years ago, he used to get quite a lot of views. The interesting thing about this guy is he speaks really good Japanese. His Japanese sounds amazing. Pronunciation is spot-on. I just— I thought it was interesting how this guy who used to do— he used to make videos on YouTube ended up playing a small part in Breaking Bad. I thought that's pretty cool. I stopped exercising because I can't— I can't do any push-ups in this condition. And I feel like, I feel like my boob muscle is starting to shrink, starting to get smaller, which is kind of upsetting. I put a lot of effort into doing push-ups every day and drinking, drinking the protein shakes, and it feels like all of my efforts are going to waste now. I won't be able to do any exercising until at least, until next week, until I feel completely recovered. And then we have to start, start from step 1 again, start from square 1 again. I also decided to delete my Fiverr account because I was scared that might count as illegally working, and no one was contacting me anyway. The last time anyone gave me a job on Fiverr was about 2 months ago before Christmas. I have no idea what happened. I was getting so much work on Fiverr doing translating, and then all of a sudden January starts and then nothing. Not even one email. I feel like Fiverr shadowbanned me somehow. Like they secretly made my profile invisible to everyone. I'm not sure why. I didn't do anything against the rules. Okay, I might have used Google Translate a few times. And by a few times, that, that could mean 99% of the time. I'm not too sure. I'm very sick right now. And then they demoted me. I used to be a level 2 seller and they demoted me back down to level 1. And then they demoted me back down to level 0. Right at the beginning, just like all the other beginners on Fiverr. They demoted me from level 2 back down to 0. How dare they demote me after all the hard work I put into copy and pasting into Google Translate. And then they take away my level 2 badge. So I thought to myself, it's best to just delete my account and just get rid of it entirely. So, um, yeah, that's what I've been up to. That's how I've been feeling. I'm still feeling pretty, pretty bad, to be honest. It's not just the cough. I still feel kind of lightheaded now and then. I still feel really weak and low on energy. Oh, and the channel has reached 20,000 subscribers, which is great, and I'm very, very grateful for that. It's just that I would prefer it if you unsubscribed if you're not actually going to watch the videos. I don't want my channel to have 40,000 or 50,000 subscribers, but it only has 5,000 views per video. That's just— that's just depressing. I know this isn't a very good Cooking with Daniel episode, but I just haven't been doing any cooking since I got sick, and I've just been eating stuff from the supermarket, you know, the instant stuff. Stuff you don't have to cook. And I should have some fried chicken here. Ooh, fried chicken in a plastic box. Sounds delicious. If you listen carefully, you can hear it moving. We're also going to make some green tea. That I bought at the supermarket that I nearly collapsed in. It's, um, it's actually pretty good green tea. It says 100% green tea. I don't understand. I don't understand why it's perfectly okay to stick your fork into food upright, but when it's chopsticks, oh no, everyone starts having a mental breakdown. Do you know what goes really well with fried chicken? Ketchup? Yes. Ketchup. Ketchup. Ketchup.
