Panasonic LX100 - vlogging camera video test

I don't know what to do. My internet's so

slow because— let me, let me show you

what's going on. Um,

we are uploading that, the video we made

today, which is super long, like 40

minutes. I wasn't able to do any editing

because, well, that video that I took took

up all of my phone storage, so I couldn't

export the video because that required

storage. But then I realized you can

actually save to an external storage

place. So plugged in this little— let me

see if it focuses— I plugged in this USB

SD card reader into my phone and now it's

exporting to it. But that's taking ages as

well. It's nearly done, 87%,

and it's uploaded 24% of the original

video to YouTube, which is going to take

It's gonna take pretty much all day to

upload that because my internet's

terrible. And I actually bought a new

game. I bought Middle-earth: Shadow of

Mordor, and that's 40 gigabytes. I've

downloaded 2 gigabytes so far. So I

want— I just want fiber optic

broadband so badly. The internet was so

fast in Korea and Japan. Ah, but I live in

the middle of nowhere. This is the fastest

internet we have. It doesn't get any

faster than what we have.

We just don't have fiber optic out here,

and it sucks. It sucks so much.

Tea's too hot, can't even drink it. Don't

you just hate it when you make a tea and

it's just so hot you can't even drink it?

I think she has. Like some kind of

anxiety. Every time someone gets near her,

she starts breathing really fast and makes

these weird noises. Oh, this camera looks

Every time I have a camera, she always

puts her face right up to the lens. Now

look what you've done, Mimo. You've

defocused the video. There we go.

I want to try something. Let's try zooming

in. See if— oh, but this— ah, no, Mimo,

stay over there. I want to zoom in on you

so I can get a nice effect. But she's

going to keep following me around now,

isn't she?

Also, when you're making a video on this

camera, the zoom becomes even slower than

it usually is.

because then she ends up jumping off the

I really want one of those cameras where

you can just twist it to zoom, like, like

the Sony A5000. I might actually buy— do

you know how many times I've bought that

camera? Like 3 times, and then I bought

the Sony A5 5100. I hate that name. Is it

5100 or 5100? They just named it such an

awkward name. There we go, there we go.

We got backlighting and there's no

background to blur out anyway. Anyway.

What was I saying? So I just wanted to

say, like, what was I saying? I can't even

remember now. We're downloading a lot of

stuff. So we're downloading Shadow of

Mordor. I was actually surprised that it's

on Linux. Usually those like AAA big games

aren't on Linux, they're on Windows only.

I really need to buy Windows, don't I? I

just don't want to for some reason. A lot

of the reason is I watch a lot of movies

and TV shows on dodgy websites.

I don't want to get a virus. The good

thing about Linux is that you're pretty

much virus safe because no one makes

viruses for Linux. 1% of the population of

computer users uses Linux,

and usually virus developers are only

going to make viruses for Windows, aren't

they? I've had no problems

with viruses on my Linux computer. It's

because— I don't know, maybe I'm just

lucky. Maybe there are no viruses

for Linux because no one's making them.

So yeah, also I'm downloading— I'm

uploading the really long video that I

made, 40 minutes. I don't really have much

to do because I can't play Left 4 Dead 2

because the internet's really slow right

now because of the downloading and

uploading. And, um,

I can't use my phone because it's

exporting that video to my SD card.

Can't go outside because it's bloody

freezing and raining. I'm just

a bit bored, Toffee. I don't really have

anything to do. I could watch YouTube,

but there's not really much to watch at

the moment. Could watch a movie, I guess.

good thing about this camera. You can you

can focus really closely. On my Sony

A5000, you couldn't close— you couldn't

focus anywhere near that closely. You

couldn't do any macro. The best way you

could do macro was to zoom in and then

crop, but it just isn't the same, is it?

I can't believe it's been 15 days already.

15 days since I came back from Taiwan.

This feels like I've been here for such—

this feels like When I was in Taiwan, it

was such a long time ago.

15 days ago. Was it 15 days? Yeah.

So I came back on the 27th of August, and

we came back on the weekend, and my

sister, my boyfriend— my boyfriend— my

sister and her boyfriend were here. We

went, we went to the seaside. We had a

really nice time. It was actually really

nice to come home. And go out with family

like straight away. But last time I came

home from abroad, it was just my mum and

she was playing her games and she was in a

really bad mood. And I tried talking to

her and she just like yelled at me. She

said, shut up, go back to Japan, stupid

boy. And I was so upset and angry.

Things are a lot better now. She's, she's

not so angry all the time.

Yeah, it's been 15 days. I got a job,

bought a load of new stuff. I've been

buying too much stuff actually. I just

bought, I just bought a new tablet, a

Samsung Tab S2. I decided to get that over

an iPad because it's cheaper. Number one,

it's cheaper. Number two, You can use a

microSD card so you can expand the storage

up to like 128GB.

And I just prefer Android. You can do so

much more on Android. For example,

you can use a screen recorder. There's a

screen recording app. You don't need to

root it or do any hacking, or you don't

have to link it up to your computer. You

can just go onto the app and start

recording your screen, which is good if

you want to show games or stuff like that.

Also, you can do really cool stuff on

Samsung. Like, you can do split-screen

apps, so you can have 2 apps open at the

same time. You can have pop-up apps,

so you can— floating apps, so you can have

it like a computer where you minimize the

window and have it floating. What I like

to do is sometimes I like to play a game

and then have like the floating YouTube

app up in the corner so I can watch

YouTube and play the game at the same

time. Can't do that on an iPad. Also,

there's a pretty good video editing app

for Android called PowerDirector, which I

really like using, and I'm pretty sure

it's better than iMovie. You can do so

much stuff on it. You can do video

overlays, image overlays, you can change

the brightness, contrast, saturation of

the video. There are all these different

effects. It's just really easy to use.

I've used iMovie before, a long time ago,

so I'm not really sure how it compares to

it now. What else is there?

That's pretty much it. I don't really see

why you would get an iPad when you can get

a Samsung tablet. The only reason you'd

get an iPad, I guess, is if you care about

looks. IPads usually do look a lot nicer,

like the touch and feel of it and the look

of the user interface. But Samsung are

pretty good now. They have nice design.

The UI is getting a lot better,

especially the new Android version,

Marshmallow or something, looks really

nice. And I just feel like Android is so

much better than iOS. You can do so much

more things on it. And I mainly

bought the tablet because I need more

storage. My phone is just full, the

storage is full all the time, and if I

record more than 5 gigabytes of video,

then I'm out of storage to export the

video, and I'm having to delete photos all

the time and videos all the time. So I

just thought it'd be nice to get a 32

gigabyte Samsung tablet. And then I might

get like a 128GB microSD card and have

loads of storage. Don't have to worry

about that. Also, I could make videos on

the tablet if I'm just sitting down at my

computer. I don't really need to be

walking around with a camera. I can just

have the tablet sit down on the table and

then just talk into it. And I could also

use that microphone that I bought with it.

So yeah, it should be interesting. We can

do unboxing, we can do— I don't I can show

you its features. It'll be fun. We haven't

done an unboxing of an expensive item for

quite a while, quite a long time. I don't

know when it's going to come. I bought it

on Amazon, but it wasn't eligible for

Prime delivery. It was sold by some random

company on Amazon,

so I don't know when they're going to send

Sometimes Amazon is great because if you

buy it from Amazon directly, you can get

next-day delivery. But a lot of the

electronics retailers on Amazon are

third-party companies, like private

sellers that don't have anything to do

with Amazon. They're just selling on

Amazon, and they don't have next-day

delivery, and they don't really let you

know when they're gonna deliver it. It

just says preparing for dispatch. Could be

next week, could be 2 weeks' time, could

be in a few days. I don't know. Hopefully

I'll be here to take the delivery.

I love cats. But sometimes you get cats

like that and they're just like, what's

the point? You hate me. You're hissing at

me. I give you a home and I feed you and I

play with you. All you want to do is go

outside and when you see me, you hiss at

me. What's the point in having that?

think a dog would ever do that. Dogs are

just so loving all the time.

I don't know what's wrong with her. Maybe

she's just really nervous around people.

So yeah, I was just a bit bored, so I

decided to try and make a vlog on this

camera. Not really sure how it's gonna

look. It's kind of random making, making a

video with this camera because I can't see

what's going on. I can't see.

Um, I guess I'm just really image

conscious. If I can't see what I look

like, I start to feel a bit anxious.

Like, do I look okay? I don't know.

I guess it doesn't really matter that

but it just looks so nice. Watch this.

everything out. It looks so good.

I think that's all really.

I just really wanted to make a vlog

because I did make a really long video

today, but I don't really count it as a

vlog. It's more like, like a

talking video. Well, this is a talking

video as well, but I have different kinds

of talking videos. I have the talking

videos where I talk about something that

happened in the past, and then I have like

the daily update kind of talking videos

where I talk about stuff that's going on

in the present. Maybe I could have like a

section where I talk about things that

happen— that will happen in the future.

That'd be weird.

So how was your day? Do anything

interesting? I feel so weird when I ask

people that. It's like I want to ask them

how they, how they are because I want

it to seem like I'm interested in them.

But deep down, when I ask someone, so how

are you? I just feel like so cringy

because I know deep down I don't really

care. But if something happened,

interesting happened to you, and you just

want to tell me, then that's fine. But I

don't really want to have to ask you if

anything interesting happened. I don't

really feel like it's that important if I

know or if I don't know.

But people at work, they ask me a lot of

questions like Do you have any brothers or

sisters? What are your mum and dad doing?

Where does your sister live? What job does

your sister do? What do you do when you go

home? It just feels like I'm being

interrogated. And usually those

conversations don't last long. Like, they

would say, do you have any brothers or

sisters? I'd say, yeah, one sister. Where

does she live? I'd say, London. I don't

really know how to make a conversation

last, and I don't really feel like asking

them, well, do you have any brothers and

sisters? Because I don't really care.

Well, what do your parents do for a

living? I don't really care. What do you

do when you go home? Again, I don't really

care. And they just say the same thing

anyway, like, I'll go home and I just go

to sleep. I'll go home and then I drink a

beer. Really?

So all the people at work seem to be like

the same Especially the guys from Nepal

and Bangladesh. Like, they just go home

and they like drinking beer. They go with

their friends. Like, the other Nepal guy,

he was saying how he went out with his

friends. They went someplace in the car

and they got really drunk, and then they

got really hungover and they couldn't

remember what happened. You can't remember

what happened, what's the point in doing

it? And I tried talking about things I'm

interested in, like YouTube or video

gaming, and I could just tell that they're

not interested. They're not those kind of

people. It's just a shame.

It'd be nice— well, they are my age. I

asked the poor guy how old he was

yesterday and he said he was 26. I can't

believe he's younger than me. It'd be nice

to meet like some nerdy kind of people who

are into gaming, technology, internet

stuff. Where are you all? I guess we're

all on the internet, not out in the real

world. That's the problem, isn't it?

No, I don't— I find it difficult to talk

to those kinds of people because we don't

really have much in common. But if I met

someone who was into the same things as

me, I could talk for hours and hours

happily about things like YouTube or

Gaming, internet stuff, computer stuff,

tech stuff, even travel stuff like Japan.

I never seem to meet those kinds of

people. I always end up meeting people who

are very different to me, people who like

going out clubbing or drinking, or people

who like going bungee jumping. I don't

want to go bungee jumping. I want to go

skydiving. I'm not a thrill seeker.

I'm a bit of a coward. I don't like

adrenaline or thrill seeking. I just

like to sit in my house playing games,

messing around with technology stuff like

cameras or computers, tablets.

I don't know, maybe some people that's

kind of boring, but that's who I am.

Those are my hobbies. Can't really do much

to change. I like drinking. I just like— I

don't like to overdo it. Like some people,

they just drink beer after beer and then

they get so hungover they just forget

everything that happened. And it just

feels like that's just drinking too much.

You need to do it in moderation.

You drink too much and it just loses all

the— there's no fun in it. It's like

chocolate cake tastes great, but you eat

like 10 chocolate cakes in a row, you just

end up wanting to puke it all up, right?

I've been using this mirror to see the

screen because there's no flip screen on

this camera. Look how slow this zooms.

Is. When it gets into digital zoom, it

speeds up. Trying to focus on the outside,

but it's not working.

takes all day.

I guess I'll go back to watching YouTube

now. Have to look for something

interesting to watch. Oh, I finished

watching Stranger Things. It was actually

pretty good. The ending was a bit

anticlimactic. Like, they found the kid

that was missing, they killed the monster,

and it was like happy ever after. And then

the kid vomited up some kind of alien.

So I'm guessing it's gonna lead into the

next series of Stranger Things. It'll be

interesting if the next series of Stranger

Things would be like 5 years later and

those kids have grown up and they're

teenagers. That'd be really interesting

because I don't really enjoy watching

dramas that are based around kids. I

prefer it to be adults, young adults,

just because I feel like I am a young

adult and I can relate to that more. I

can't really relate to kids anymore

because I'm not a kid. But yeah, I enjoyed

it. It was a bit boring at the beginning,

but you stick to it and it's interesting.

It's mysterious and intriguing, and the

acting is really good, and there's

interesting characters. Character

development's good. Yeah, pretty good.

I'm still waiting for I haven't really

been watching much TV recently. I'm just

waiting for Walking Dead and Game of

Thrones to come back on. Those are the

main shows I watch.

Yeah, we was here. My sister

and her boyfriend came over my house on

the weekend I came home. We were watching

The Martian. They were sitting here, I was

sitting here. And we have this nice big TV

my dad bought, but we don't really use it

much because we usually watch TV in the

other room. We don't really use this much—

use this room much. And I don't really

watch TV much anyway. I'd rather just

watch it on my PC upstairs. It's easier.

You can go on the internet on this TV,

but it's really slow to operate. You have

to use the remote. There's no mouse and

keyboard. It takes ages to type anything.

I guess you could buy like one of those

tiny keyboards to plug in or wireless.

Let me watch The Martian.

And then I got a job,

finally got a job. I just can't wait for

this training period to be over and I can

just like get into a routine, go to work,

know what I'm doing, not have to be really

worried about everything.
