I’ve got a HUGE problem (might get deported)

Hey, so I just wanted to make a quick

video because I kind of have a bit of a

problem. As you may know, I've been living

in the Netherlands for a couple months

now, and I came here before Brexit

happened. If you don't know what Brexit

is, basically it means that us English

people from Britain, the UK, is leaving

the EU, which is a bunch of European comp—

companies— countries! This bunch of

European countries that decided to form

some kind of membership And for some

reason Germany is in charge of it. The

presidency of the EU is, is run

by Germany. I don't understand why Germany

of all countries is in charge of the EU.

Didn't we beat them in the war? Didn't

they lose 2 world wars and they nearly

destroyed the entire world 2 times? And us

English people and Americans had to step

in and stop them before they completely

destroyed everything. And And for some

reason, who's in charge of the EU and this

new special European members club?

Germany's in charge of it. And us English

people are leaving because we decided—

well, some of us decided that it sucks to

be in the EU. I don't understand why

England is not in charge of the EU. If any

country should be in charge of the EU and

be the one making decisions and creating

laws, shouldn't it be the country that

saved the entire continent from the crazy

German guy who tried to rule the world and

conquer everyone else. When everyone was

just rolling over, like France and Poland,

just letting them come in and didn't even

put up much of a fight, guess who was

here, um, saving everyone's buttocks?

Yes, us British were the ones who saved

Europe, and then we're the ones who have

to leave the EU. That's just kind of

ridiculous. I think that we should be the

ones in charge of the EU, not bloody

Germany. Anyway, This isn't a video about

the EU. Um, it is a video about how it

affects me personally because now that

Brexit has been decided on and it's going

to officially take place after the 1st of

January, um, I have to start thinking

about what I'm going to do because I've

been in the Netherlands for a couple

months now without a visa because you

don't need to have a visa when you're part

of the EU, which is one of the reasons why

being in the EU makes sense because it

means you can go to any of these countries

without having to fuss around about visas

and documentation and all this mumbo-jumbo

nonsense. We saved Europe. Europe wouldn't

even exist if it wasn't for us English.

We should have the right to be able to

travel all over Europe whenever we bloody

well want to. So my problem is I don't

really know how long I'm allowed to stay

in the Netherlands without some kind of

visa. After Brexit happens.

I did try Googling it, and— but there's so

much information. They've got this

government website and it's just pages and

pages and pages, and I don't really know

which one— which specific points apply

to my specific situation. I arrived here a

couple months ago as a tourist. I don't

have work here, I don't have a job, I

don't have a company, I don't have any

kind of visas or residency documentation.

I'm just here as a tourist and I wanted to

stay here as a tourist. I don't want to

become a Dutch resident. I don't want to

become a permanent resident in the

Netherlands because I don't really have

any plans to stay here for the rest of my

life. I don't have a house here. I don't

have a family. Um, I don't really know

what's— what I want to do in the future.

So I don't really want to apply for a

full-term permanent Dutch residence kind

of visa because I don't really know what I

want to do in my life yet. Ideally, I

would like to be able to stay here for a

couple more months, maybe another 5 months

at most, so I can decide what I want to

do. And I do kind of feel a little bit

settled here in my home,

as you can see. So it is a bit

inconvenient that I now have to decide if

I either want to become a Dutch citizen or

permanent resident or leave. And just pack

all my stuff and leave my nice apartment

and leave the life that I've started to

build since last year— not last year,

this year. September-ish was when I

arrived, I think. I can't remember now,

it's been such a long time. Well, it

hasn't really been that long, but it feels

pretty long. So I tried phoning the

embassy and it's just impossible to

get through to an actual person. You sit

there and they've got all these automated

robot messages going Press 1 if you need

information about visas. So I press 1 and

then it's just another automated voice

saying, all information can be found on

the government website. I just went on the

government website and they've got a

bloody book of information that I cannot

be arsed to read. So it'd be great if

someone here knows in the comments

section, um, how long can I

stay here without needing to get a visa?

Because I've read one statement that I

found saying if you arrived in the

Netherlands before December 31st,

then you have until July 1st,

2021 to apply for some kind of residence

document. So if that's true, that means I

don't really have to take any action with

applying for residency documents until

Until July. So I have until the end of

June to stay. That'd be pretty nice if I

could just stay here until June without

needing some kind of application.

So I guess my question would be,

um, how long can I stay in the Netherlands

without needing a visa, without having to

apply for any kind of mumbo-jumbo? How

long can I stay here? That's all I want to

know. I'm here as a tourist. Um, I'm not

here as a resident,

and I would just like to stay a couple

more months, maybe. Not really planning on

staying here for years and decades and

decades. It's just so annoying. They've

got all of this information on their

website saying if you've been living in

the Netherlands for more than 5 years,

then this applies to you. If you've only

been here for less than 5 years then this

applies to you. If you are a student,

then this applies to you. I am none of

those things. I am a tourist who has been

here for a couple months. So what do I

have to do? What about tourists? It's like

they didn't even think about people who

just travel around Europe and they don't

work and they don't study and they're not

married and they don't have any of the

stuff that they are assuming we have.

It's like they just didn't even consider

people like me and what I'm supposed to

do. Am I supposed to go back to England?

Can I go to a different European country

and then re-enter this country and then

stay for a couple months? There's

absolutely no information that is relevant

to me, so I'm asking for your help. If

anyone here knows information relevant to

my case, or if anyone would like to phone

up the embassy for me, that would be very,

very helpful. And then also, I really

don't understand why We are having to

leave the EU because, look,

the main reason why we're leaving the EU

is because English people are not happy

with being bossed around by Europe, and

that makes perfect sense. Why the hell

should we have to be bossed around by

Europe? We saved Europe from the Germans.

They should be thanking us. They owe

us. They should be listening to what we

want. If it wasn't for us, they'd all be

speaking bloody German. If we want to fish

in the North Atlantic Ocean or in the

English Channel, then that should be up to

us to decide. It's just a bit of fishing.

What is the big problem? Now we have to

exit the EU, which I still stand by my

point, it should have been set up,

organized, and managed by us, the English.

I'm just kind of annoyed that the majority

of English people voted for Brexit in the

first place. Do they even understand what

they're voting for? I don't think they do,

because I'm pretty sure all of these

fishing rights and whatever treaties

probably won't even affect the majority of

English people. And it's just going to

make traveling around Europe to be so much

more difficult. If you want to get a nice,

a nice summer home in Spain, or if you

want to get a nice cabin in the woods in

Sweden and have like a second home and

visit those countries whenever you want

to, or just tour around Europe meeting

people It was so much easier to do that

as a member of the EU. Now we're not a

member, do you know how difficult it's

going to make everything? We're going to

have to do passport checks and get visas

and documentation, and we're only going to

be able to stay in each country for a

couple months before we have to start

getting documentation mumbo-jumbo. You

just made everyone's lives who live like

me, who live in Europe and wanted to

travel around in Europe, you You just made

our lives so much more difficult. So

thanks for anyone— thanks all the people

who voted for Brexit and made my life

inconvenient. I hope you're happy about

that. So yeah, I think that's all I had to

say. If you have any information or know

whether I can stay or not, or how long I

can stay before needing to apply for mumbo

jumbo, then that'll be really big help if

you could give me some advice. And you may

have noticed that I turned the comment

section off recently on the last couple

of videos, and that's just mainly because

sometimes you people are so unbelievably

annoying that I just want to, you know,

and it doesn't matter how much I rage at

people in the videos or rage at them in

the comment section about how stupid they

are and the stupid things they say about

me. Oh, it doesn't seem to make any

difference, and I don't know if people are

trolling me or if they really are just

that stupid. So sometimes I just have to

disable the comment section for my own

sanity. I'm just gonna have to sometimes

completely disable the comment section.

It depends on my mood. If there are days

when I'm in a good mood, then sure, I'll

keep the comment section open. I'll just

try not to read the comments. Because

these days there's just so much stupidity

in my comment section that I cannot fight

all of you. There's just too many of you.

I'm just one guy. You are thousands and

thousands of people, hundreds of people

leaving dumb comments. I can't fight every

and each one of you. It's just— it gets

tiring. It's a never-ending battle that I

just cannot possibly win all by myself.

And the only way I can manage it is by

just completely disabling the comment

section. And I know that upsets some

people because they like the comment

section, and I'm very sorry that I have to

turn off the comment section to protect my

sanity. You know, sometimes I don't like

constantly being insulted by hundreds of

strangers every day. Maybe I would like a

little break from that.
